Gamer gets his parents into deep trouble

A US WoW player who was so addicted to the game that he decided to use stolen credit cards to buy fake gold seems to have drawn his parents into a web of crime and punishment.
Trevor Miller, 17, from Buffalo Grove, stole credit cards and used the information to play World of Warcraft.

According to the local rag, Inspector Knacker of the Lake County Yard investigated multiple fraudulent online orders and downloads stemming after a car was broken into in July.

Lincolnshire and Buffalo Grove coppers, US Postal Inspection Service agents and investigators from the Lake County State's Attorney Office managed to track the transactions to Miller's address and got enough evidence for a search warrant.

Not only did the coppers find the stolen cards they also noticed that Trev's mum and dad had a particularly nice marijuana growing business operating from home. Several plants were growing in the house and several were found outside.

After formally saying "wot's all this then",  Miller's parents, James, 52, and Cindy, 50, were both charged with unlawful production of marijuana and banged up in the cells for a night.
We guess mum and dad will not be buying Trev a bike for Christmas this year or at least will be sitting down and explaining the importance of covering your tracks properly if you commit a crime, and never bringing coppers into the house.

Google shuts down 'confusing' Wave

GOOGLE is shutting down Google Wave, its web-based program that lets people chat, share files and collaborate on documents in real time.

In a blog post, Google said Wave "set a high bar for what was possible in a web browser".

In September last year, Google began inviting people to test Wave, which merges email, online chat, social networking and "wiki" style group access to web pages or documents.

With the Wave, email or instant messages blossom into shared online arenas where anyone in the exchange can edit documents, add digital content, or comment at any time.

The web search and software company praised to the ability to drag files from a computer desktop into the web application and to see what someone else was typing as they typed it, character by character.
Unveiled amid much fanfare, it was supposed to revolutionise the way people communicated online, according to the Wall St Journal, and was regarded by some in the tech community as "part email, part Twitter and part instant messaging".

However, the service has proved confusing to many prospective users and will now "join a long list of failed projects that Google has launched over the years", the Wall St Journal reported.

"Wave has not seen the user adoption we would have liked," Google senior vice president Urs Holzle said.

Google said it will maintain the Google Wave site at least through the end of the year and its technology will find its way into other Google projects.

Parts of the code are already available as open source.

Other innovative projects scuttled or significantly pared back by Google in the past include its Dodgeball social-networking service, its Jaiku micro-blogging service and its automated radio advertising service.

Gawker follows Mark Zuckerberg for week, publishes pics in privacy protest

US media blog Gawker has published a series of intrusive photographs of Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, claiming it did so to highlight privacy concerns on the social networking site.

Under the headline "Mark Zuckerberg gets the paparazzi treatment" the site explained they had a photographer follow the world's youngest billionaire around his Silicon Valley neighbourhood for a weekend.

The 26-year-old is seen with friends, his sister and his girlfriend - and spending a large amount of time checking his iPhone.

The site also published photographs of Zuckerberg's house and car.

"If it feels a little naughty to take such a close look into Zuckerberg's life, remember that this is the executive who pushed the private information of Facebook's hundreds of millions of users progressively further into the public sphere," journalist Ryan Tate wrote in the article accompanying the photos.
"Facebook's CEO doesn't seem too preoccupied about your privacy, or about ours.

"Likewise, we weren't bothered by the notion of tailing him around the Valley for a few days, or about sharing the experience with you. Enjoy."

Just last week the account details for more than 100 million Facebook users were made public.

The personal information, harvested from publicly available information held in Facebook’s open access directory, was made available for download on a torrent or filesharing site.

The social networking site has more than 500 million users and earlier this year there was a storm of protest over the complexity of its privacy settings.

As a result, the site simplified the system, but Facebook's privacy policy has grown significantly over time and is now longer than the United States Constitution.

Zuckerberg's net worth is valued at US$4 billion due to his 24 per cent share of Facebook.

First match world cup

Today the world cup is just begin. Everyone will spend their time to see the first match of the world cup. The watch it while they are drinking or chatting with friends. It's fun to watch a football match.
The beginning of the first match is South Africa versus Mexico which is draw. They got 1-1.


First goal is created by Mexico but it was offside so the referee does not count that to be a goal. Then a few minutes later, South Africa made one goal. Yeayy! The person that make the goal is Siphiwe TSHABALALA (55').
In the middle of the second match, Mexico also made one goal and make it draw. That guy is Rafael MARQUEZ (79').
